Vision, Mission, Core Values & Governance

The Association of Pakistani Physicians of North America was founded in 1975, Since then we have grown to 39 Chapters in the United States and North America. In the most recent years, the COVID-19 Pandemic negatively affected our Michigan Chapter as some of our dear member physicians lost their lives and also suffered loss of family members. However, in the Year 2022 our Michigan Chapter bounced back and is continuing to thrive. Yasser Jamal, MD, and Asker Asmi, MD were the Presidents in 2022 and 2023, respectively. Their hard work is remembered and appreciated.

Our goal is to do an outreach to every Pakistani Physician in our great State of Michigan and invite them to become a physician-member of APPNA-Michigan Chapter.

As the President of the APPNA-Michigan Chapter 2024, I am transparently confident and passionate about my Vision, Mission and Core Values as these are in an alignment with Central APPNA, headquartered in Westmont, Illinois. I am humbled to report, the Chairman of the Board, Kashif Qureshi, and the senior Executive Board members are actively involved in the Governance.

To facilitate our profession’s altruistic growth and without re-inventing the wheel, I am proud to introduce this new website to every Pakistani Physician in Michigan. This Website is my gift to the APPNA-Michigan Chapter 2024 Pakistani Physician Community. As you are all aware, APPNA-Michigan Chapter is a nonprofit 501 C-3 Professional Charitable Organization. Our organization does not have any employees and, therefore, there is no payroll. All work done on behalf of the APPNA-Michigan Chapter is volunteer beased. As you explore the new website, you will notice the introduction of new programs as part of the member physician’s benefits package. These programs are exclusively designed for member physicians. Everyone is welcome. However, these programs cannot be possible without your unwavering sustainable support. APPNA-Michigan Chapter is your organization here to support you in good and in difficult times. These programs range from putting the prestige back into what it meant to be a physician and not just a provider. These programs are membership-driven and will grow over time.

Physician Concierge Services program is aimed to bring physician services ranging from Physician Finance, Special Discounts on wide variety of services and products including and not limited to Car Rentals, International Travel, Halal Dining and Special Event Venues. We are also poised to bring an alignment with the Consulate General of Pakistan for easing business relations in Pakistan.

I also want to take this opportunity to introduce the Accdemic Pakistani Physician Engagement Initiative (APPEI). This program will be spearheaded by an appointed faculty position holder at one of our local Medical Schools. This program is aimed to provide mentorships to our new generation medical students, and medical residents. Mentorships will be provided by attending physicians holding key positions. Under this initiative, Journal Club, and AMA Category 1 CME will be introduced. Scholarship Program will be initiated. This will make our physician community stronger and cohesive. Under “Our Services” menu, there will be many options for numerous Social Programs. Donations can also be made to your favorite Charities from your own Donor Dashboard.

I also want to implement a program introducing the Legal Counsel Services for all our Pakistani Member Physicians and their Families.This program is still in it’s infancy and it can only be realized with active physician membership. If you are not a member, please join our call to action and become a member physician today.

As you are well informed about the International humanitarian crises, the burden of philanthropy and humanitarian relief is expanding exponentially. We need you now more than ever. In order to systematically help others, we must first make our Organization stronger as we continue to work collectively to align our mutual philanthropic charitable goals with like minded Corporate Sponsors.
